Mission Statement

Savoy Fire Department is committed to all hazards mitigation by delivering the highest level of Public Safety Services by successfully executing our commitment through Quality Training, Public Education, Professional Development, and Promoting Unity of the citizens while upholding our motto “Neighbors helping Neighbors.”

Welcome From the Chief

On behalf of our members, welcome to Savoy Fire Department. We invite you to browse through our web page. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any additional information.

Savoy Fire Department is an ISO 3 paid-on-call department, averaging 550 service calls annually and providing protection for 10,000 residents. We employ approximately 40 dedicated firefighters, EMT’S, and paramedics, which includes 4 fire investigators, 2 arson investigators, 2 fire inspectors, and a public information officer. Our leadership consists of a fire chief, assistant fire chief, 2 captains, and 4 lieutenants.

Our apparatus includes 4 engines, 1 tower ladder, 1 utility vehicle, 1 command vehicle, a fire safety house, and an air trailer. The community is also protected 24/7 by a contract ALS ambulance located within our station and is staffed by a paramedic and EMT-B. The Department also participates in a very progressive county wide mutual aid program (MABAS 28).

Savoy Fire Department is committed to the community. Education is a large part of our passion and existence. Recently, we partnered with the Red Cross to ensure all Savoy residents have working smoke detectors within their homes. Our station is routinely open to the community for tours and to become better acquainted with our firefighters. Public education is key in fire prevention.

It is my honor and pleasure to serve as Fire Chief, not only of the fire department, but the Village of Savoy. I will continue to challenge our members to provide the highest level of professionalism as trusted employees of this great organization.

Best Regards,
Jason Dillingham
Fire Chief
